Okay folks, please write it down somewhere; 22nd Nov, Saturday, at PWTC. Be sure you are registered for the Bloggers' Buff 2008 event, if you're a blogger, you want to know your rights as a blogger, you want to know how to make money, you want to hear it from bloggers who has been there, done that, and the whole enchilada.

What is Bloggers Buff?
In a nutshell, a platform for bloggers of all genres to come together with one common interest and share views on different aspects of blogging.

Who is behind Bloggers Buff?
A team of rocket scientists. No silly, a team of people who is passionate about giving you the best of the best, simply because most of us are bloggers, and we care about our rights as a blogger, and we want to share it by creating a platform for that purpose.

Is this new? I haven't heard of it.
Well, Bloggers Buff started last year in 2007, and speakers/bloggers like Kenny Sia and Yvonne Foong came to speak at the event. A small number turn up at the Bloggers Buff's debut and guess what we're doing it again this year, improved, bigger and better.

Why should I attend it? What's in it for me?
Oh well, this is not going to be some gathering where you sit, eat, take photos and go home. This is a two way, interactive event where you get to network, join in the discussion, ask questions! Best thing is, you get to listen to the horses' mouth itself, because we've arranged speakers such as Tun Mahathir, Rocky's Bru, Dato' Ahmad Talib to share their views on important issues faced by Malaysian bloggers today.

For the young jedi(s)
Okay, fret not, young jedi(s), because if you're just looking for something more light, we have a 2nd session, mainly for the youth bloggers. We've invited bloggers like Sid from Sunny&Sid, Yien Yee from A Shopaholics' Den, Gina from MiniBites, Jason Lioh from JasonMumbles and Jan Wong from Shirts4Real to share their stories and views.

The Bloggers Buff 2008 photography contest.

Under the Theme "My Generation My World", send your best picture based on it.
Be it Funny, Dramatic or totally out of the world, just send them in to bloggersbuff@gmail.com

Also, if you register, your blog will automatically be in the running to win the Bloggers Buff's Best Blog awards. Before I forget, it's limited to only 100 participants, so register fast!

Okay, do I need to pay?
Yes, but we won't be taking any of it. It's more of a commitment fee and every single penny will be used for the event for you. The fees are as below:-

1) Part 1 (RM50)
2) Part 2 (RM20)
3) All events (RM60)

We're in the city of wonder

before i m-i-a into the weekends. *evil laugh*

basically, i slept in today, i guess must be the late nights taking toll (bad habit), and i went out to grab a bite while waiting for the cobbler to fix my Nike's.

Advertisement break:
Go to Zul (cobbler), just outside Killiney's at Damansara Uptown, he's the best, and cost effective too! For your monthly heel-quick-fix, it's only RM3, which is ALOT cheaper than other places, of course, if you're around PJ/Damansara area.

I'm still *looking at the messy pile behind* very much unpacked. And yes, I shall continue after this, I promise! I will be packed packed packed! next week, up and down Ipoh-KL/PJ, I don't think I've ever been that busy, a far cry from the "chill out, bumming around" routine I expected after finishing college. So, it's untrue, myth busted, alright!

A quick run down on what's keeping me alive:-

1) Press conference for Bloggers Buff 2008. (it's finally happening)
2) Samsung Innov8 Run (fingers crossed, shall we?)
3) Driving examination (Wish me Luck!)
4) Move, Work, Move? (How am I going to juggle?)
5) Personal Statement/ Reference (Procrastination is the real devil!)
6) Birthday party event: Editing,Interview, Door Gift!
7) Post pics of Perak Academy's talk, Malaysian Dilemma (on flickr)
8) Bound for Singapore on the 7th-9th Nov.

Okay, put that aside.

So, I've been reading one of my fav blogs, and was intrigued by this particular entry, which focuses on Epistemology or the theory of knowledge.

According to wikipedia.com, Epistemology primarily addresses the following questions:

1) What is knowledge?
2) How is knowledge acquired?
3) What do people know?
4) How do we know what we know?

I'm not going to further elaborate because of time doesn't allow me to, but it seems to be that the theory of knowledge is very similar to psychology, which always has the fundamental question of, What comes first? The chicken or the egg? Mind or Brains? Nature Vs. Nurture. Can you feel the mental orgasm?

Okay, on the final note, this song has been stuck in my head since Kina Grannis' cover. So now, let's "bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum..."

Have a great weekend everybody, I'll check in later with my surprise package post.

GAP presents Marié Digby Live in KL

7.30pm and the unexpected crowd, and worst part, I couldn't get a good spot for pictures!

Desperate calls for desperate measures, I went up to the 2nd floor- climbed on the chair and took this, which is still pathetic.

12 year old, Kimberly, won the Yamaha guitar! *I didn't have the courage to join!*

A guy, who forgot his lyrics. Nervous and was actually trying-too-hard-to-impress-Marié.

She's not too bad. Just nervous.

Acoustiq 39 feat Azalea sang Say it Again. Click for their 2nd place Marié's Youtube Contest Video.

OPL. Other People's Lens. =_=;

As you can see I'm very far, and I wished I had telephoto lens. :(

the queue to get the autograph.

;)

I wasn't happy with the set up, because you can't get a good view, plus the audio was a lil faulty during her first song, Say it Again.

But it was worthwhile, because I got closeup pictures of her, as she took a mini break when it came to my turn!

:)

Behind the "glamour"

you've seen the "glamour" side of it.

here's the the latter. xD

the waiting. omg. so malaysian lah, these "stars" are never on time...*

see. see. now only coming. when is it going to be my turn? *

ladies at work. :)

like they say, candids are the best!

turban guy: I polished my leather shoes, make sure you capture the shine, wokay?

beanie guy: aiyoyo..... *

as the after party goes on, we sometimes forget to look sideways...

i noticed them by the kitchen entrance- and that 3rd chef with specs (in the middle) is not bad looking! xD

awww. they're really shy, and really nice... nice fellows! :)

*all the captions above are only for entertainment purpose, to be taken lightly! :)

So, I should have taken more of those "un-glamour" pics- to prove that glamour ends at the end of the night, and behind the facade, we're all normal peeps with a normal job, with normal lives.

Those glamorous people literally live in front of the camera, it's their "job" to look great and awesome. At the end of the day, they're just people with jobs.

But this post serves to remind us, that sometimes we should look sideways, and you might see something interesting along the way.

p/s: Oh yea. I would also like to thank a few people for this wonderful experience. *ahem*

Manager: Yelena (who persuaded me to go for this event)
Wardrobe: Pam (wonderful stylist! Thank you! YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!)
"Glamour" Entourage: Sara and Nasriq (without you guys, we would be lost! haha)

Kononnya lah, glamour kan? Ish.

AIM 15 (pics + quick recap)

So, here we go.

on the red carpet: Fazley

on the red carpet: Elaine Daly

*coughs* Also on the red carpet: Yelena and I.

AIM 15. Kemuncak Segala-galanya.

Host Adibah Noor and Afdlin Shauki did great.

A few of the most memorable jokes/lines:

Afdlin: Mempersembahkan 3 vokalis wanita- kalau digabungkan, jadilah Adibah.
Kalau dipecahkan, jadilah Dayang, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, dan Atilia.

Opening perf: Faizal Tahir.

WHO? From 8tv's One in a Million and 3 months ban for baring his chest fame.
Trademark? Superman t-shirt.
Awards? 6 nominations; 3 wins. (he's the crowd's favourite, hmm..)

WHO? Datuk Siti Nurhaliza receiving the Best Female Vocalist Award. again.

There were some good performances...

Good: Boomerangx, singing/rapping KL Leng Zhai. (mandarin, english, malay, tamil, punjab)

and some bad ones....

BAD: They named themselves "Nice", but it was not nice, dawg. Not feeling it! :/

The "Fantastic" Four:- the night was still young, it's time to party!

BoomerangX- Gotta have a pic with them. :)

Pop Shuvit (who also won the Anugerah Kembara that night)

Dayang Nurfaizah. (very bubbly, friendly)

She performed Warisan, which was one of the best.

It's a shame she didn't win any awards (although with a strong fanbase supporting her at the show, she wasn't sulky, sporting indeed!)

Spotted also at the after-party: Dina from the Malaysian Idol fame.

Side note: She's uber friendly!

From the 2003 Keabadian Cinta craze, ANUAR ZAIN!!
Now meeting him in person! :)

Just like in the picture, he's extremely soft spoken, and polite.

I felt bad when I saw him eating halfway, and people wanting to take picture with him.

Come on people, give him some SPACE!

What's on the "other" side of the room? Hmmm... Rofl!

Awesome DJ!

There's a party going on:

the booze, the dance floor and cute decor.

Sara, my unofficial model. :p

I adore the lighting! :)

Cupcakes anyone?

Sara and I: Yelena trying her hand at photography.

It came out pretty and I would say it's not too bad!

I wasn't going to post this up. hmmph. Fine, he's smokin' *coughs*hot*coughs* .

I'm taking back what I've said earlier, because Yelena said: Give him the benefit of the doubt! Fine. Hmmph.

Anyways, I love the moody blue lighting! Yes, original lighting.

One of my favourite shots of the night! :)

Glamour queens: Daphne Iking, Sara & Elaine Daly.

Okay, that was a (very) quick recap of the AIM, and after-party event.

Next update:
Behind the "glamour". ;p

Colbie Caillat Showcase In Malaysia @ Laundry, The Curve

sorry for the late update.

14th March 2008.
7-ish.

the crowd and the stage.

Emcees of the night: Natalie and Adam C.

It started raining shortly at about 8-ish when it's supposed to start. Most of us ran for shelter. Kris and I had dinner, and came back an hour later.

guess what? the show hasn't started yet. phew. :p

skip unnecessary part- right to the show.
larger than life: i never thought i would be able to watch her live!
i can't even remember all the songs she sang, i do remember a few, namely, The Little Things, Bubbly, Magic, Realize, Battle...

The Hitz.fm contest winner, Preema gets to go up on stage to sing. You go girl!

I can't believe some people actually said: She's gonna ruin the song.

she did great actually!

I think this is when she sang Bubbly. I love this song since I heard it on youtube and I knew I had to learn to play the song. although it's kinda overplayed on Mix Fm nowadays.

note: they should play other songs on her album!

One of my favourites: Realize. I adore the mv.
and btw, the (justin young) ukelele sounds awesome! (smaller version of a guitar)

i like this shot. you can see the whole band. drummer: michael baker, guitarist: Justin Young and Tim Fagan.

awesome set up. she has a talented bunch of musicians to back her up + Jason Reeves who co-wrote most of her songs.

warm smile. like sweet honey flowing over rocks, just like the way describes her songs.

Side note:
Photography by yours truly.
No flash was used to maintain the original lightings and feel of the event.
Shot using a Canon 400D.
