I attended a wedding on Saturday night and this was the father's speech to the newly weds:

You have taken 7 years of courtship. I hope you see through each other to know whether you're able to work the marriage. The thing is, you need to open your eyes before marriage and learn how to close them afterwards. The problem with a lot of people is that they close their eyes before marriage and open them afterwards. That's a little too late.
